Since our founding in 2012, Hip Hop Fundamentals has served over 400,000 students in the mid-Atlantic region. Every year, more than 10,000 elementary school students receive high-quality arts education thanks to our partnership with Young Audiences of New Jersey and Eastern Pennsylvania. Our company is committed to the preservation and appreciation of Hip Hop culture and history through the practice of mentorship and community building.

PROGRAM OFFERINGS

The Principles of Hip Hop
Our flagship performance program— Participants will experience dynamic live dancing, learn about Hip Hop’s history and Black cultural roots.
With opportunities to step on stage and learn some traditional dance moves, this show is perfect for K-12 students in schools and community sites.

Civil Rights Movements
Experience American Civil Rights history in a new way with our program centered around Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s message of LOVE.This lesson on Civil Rights has a focus on youth involvement that will not only entertain, but aid students to gain a clear understanding of key terms like segregation, racism, and non-violent direct action.

Workshops & Residencies
Groups of up to 30 students learn the basics of Breaking through drills, games, and team-building exercises.Students will create their own moves, learn the cultural roots of Hip Hop, and are guaranteed to have fun while doing so!
Arts integrated residencies are available on request. We can cater our work to fit your learner's needs!
